The Game

The Oz Lotto, based in Australia, is a national lottery game, that plays every Tuesday night at 8.30pm AEST.

The game has a minimum top jackpot of $2 million, with a probability of one in 45,379,620 of winning. It costs $1.10 plus an agents commission to buy a ticket for the game.

The odds of winning the minimum prize, by matching three numbers, is one in 55.

Players must choose seven numbers from 45 when purchasing their ticket. This format, a change from six numbers from 45, was introduced on 18^th October 2005. This led to some Australian states re-branding the game. Queensland, for example, began to call the game Oz 7 Lotto.

License and Operation

The Oz Lotto is operated by the Tatts Group, which also operates The Tatts Lotteries, the Golden Casket, the New South Wales lotteries and the South Australian Lotteries.

Interesting Facts

Oz Lotto has paid out the largest ever Australian lottery jackpot with a prize of $111,972,151.04 paid out on 6^th November 2012.
