Overview

The Health Lottery is played in Great Britain and it is different to the National Lottery. The Health Lottery is made up of 51 different local society lotteries. Each of these societies represents one or more local authorities in the UK and is given a license by the Gambling Commission.

By selling lottery tickets each society raises money for health-related good causes in their area. 20p of every £1 spent on the Health Lottery goes to these causes.

Each society takes a turn at running the Health Lottery giving every area an equal and fair share of the revenue.  The causes are chosen by local people in association with the People’s Health Trust.

Playing Your Lottery Lines

It costs £1 to buy a line for the Health Lottery, and you can win prizes from £10 up to £100,000.

To play you must pick five numbers from the range of 1 to 50. There are no less than 5 draws per week to play, on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. During the draw five numbers and a bonus number are drawn.

When playing the Health Lottery online you can use the Quick Pick function to have your numbers chosen for you. You can then choose to pay for up to 8 weeks in advance.

You can pay money into your Health Lottery account and purchase lottery lines from there, or you can choose to pay for multiple draws by direct debit.

Payouts

If you are lucky enough to win on the Health Lottery then prizes of less than £2,000 will be paid directly into your online account from where they can be withdrawn into your bank.

For prizes of greater than £2,000 the winner is asked to call the Health Lottery helpline on 0844 375 55 55 to arrange collection of their prize.

Instant Win Games

As well as five weekly Health Lottery draws, there are also some really good instant win games on the Health Lottery. And you can play them for free first to see if you like them before paying to play for cash prizes.

The games include, Duck Shoot, which you can play for £1 to win £1,000, Heart’s in a Spin, with a top prize of £1,000, or Shear Luck with a top prize of £10,000.
